Yet there were civilizations that achieved greatness over their neighbors, becoming empires and building the structures that still stand today.

Hosted by actor Peter Weller and narrated by Michael Carroll, Engineering an Empire takes a look at the empires that built the structures that still influence modern architecture; from the pyramids of Egypt to the Great Wall of China. Each episode looks at a different empire; using 3D animations to recreate how each structure was built and to take an inside look in each building.
